Long life and Good health, two priceless things people seek, I myself hope to see my great-great-great-great grand children if possible, even that means I have to live longer than Methuselah, but long life and good health is something which seem too difficult to achieve to some, due to the challenges that face them, but good health is easily achievable. 

Now, there is place on Planet earth where long life is not something you have to exercise daily to get, no no its not the FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH, its a village named Acciaroli


Acciaroli is a village along the Mediterranean in Italy, this village is home to nearly 300 people who are over 100 years old and that is one third of the villages total population.

Life is quite simple and the secrets to long life and Good health are not as high handed as you think. The secrets are all around you. 

Now Alan Maisel a cardiologist at the University of California, who paid a visit to this village, gave me the tips on which those amazing people survive on.

First of all, everybody in the village ate Anchovies  Anchovies is the name of fish, Secondly, they have the plant rosemary in almost everything they cook with (Just imagine bitter leaf in your pot of soup).

Now do we have to go t Mediterranean to fish out these Anchovies and Rosemary plant, a big NO the key to good health lies in what these animals and plants contain and not the animals and plants themselves.

Anchovies contain "a heart healthy" Omega-3 fatty acids, they are rich in protein, vitamin and minerals that help in maintaining good health. They contain calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and zinc. Also the Anchovies are a good source of vitamins such as thiamine, riboflavin, (B-12, B-6, A ,E and Vitamin K) They also contain a large amount of polyunsaturated fats. 

The Plant Rosemary is considered a healing herb, which may help soothe sore muscles and may protect your from cancer causing compounds and also reduce some aging. 

The simple step you need to take is getting a substitute (If you can't get anchovies/rosemary) that posses all the nutrients stated above and then are sure to live longer. 


Researchers who went to the village did not find the people doing so much exercise (such as jogging)
