3 Things You Should Change If You Sleep Like A Log Of Wood

When I say log of wood, I mean if you sleep and wake up feeling extremely tired.

I mean if you wake up feeling ache, pains in your joints, If your morning face scares you when you look at it in the mirror in the morning, just because you look so tired.  If you get 8 hours of sleep every night and someone who sleeps only 4 hours looks better than your morning face.

I would go on and on to tell you how important sleep is for you. How important it is for your job, business, relationship (marriage), studies and all that, but that would be in another article.

I am going to talk about the actual things that make your sleep so poor, tiring and aching. Unfortunately, most of them are caused by you and you might be doing them intentionally or unintentionally.

I once suffered a lot due to inadequate sleep and even adequate sleep still caused me back pains and tired heavy eyes. I did a lot of things to sleep better. I started eating better, exercising and so many other stuff, but none of them ever worked.

I read a lot of stuff online on how to sleep better and still woke up feeling worse than a zombie (although I don't know how zombies feel).

So what was really happening?

It took me some time to find out that I have been missing one simple detail that most health blogs, websites, and directories don't tell you when you embark on your quest to get better sleep.

I mean, it was staring at me right in the face, I looked but never saw it.

So what was it?

Before you can actually get the quality sleep you are craving for right now, you have to do one thing first. Don't worry it 's really simple.

Take Your Sleep Seriously.

And when I say seriously, I mean as seriously as you took that final year exam, as seriously you did be when you are typing your bank account number in an online transaction, or your password in your email account.

Honestly, any tips you will read from my website will never work for you if you don't do that simple thing first. That is how things work.

When you start taking your sleep seriously, there will be some things you will have to give up, just to sleep better. You will be ready to give up that cheap MTN Midnight browsing (I used to rock that), those movies that run into the night, social media and excessive workloads.

You might say that if you sleep early, you wouldn't have enough time to work, but what if I told you that if you sleep early you will be able to work twice as fast in the day (I am a living example).

I once remember a guy (he's from Nigeria by the way) refuting my views on getting adequate sleep based on the fact that money does not sleep. Today he looks 10 years older than me (although we are the same age) and I am 3x richer than him.

I am not going to promise you heaven and earth here. In reality, it is really hard to sleep around 11pm every night and wake up around 5am. There are some days you will have to sleep longer or shorter, but the most important thing here is to make sure you improve your sleep quality by trying to get at least 6 hours of sleep every night.

Here are 3 things you should change to improve your sleep quality.

1. Create a Sleep Schedule

Sounds obvious right.

Creating a sleep schedule is one of the best ways to improve your sleep quality. The problem is, it is one of the easiest things to ignore. But all that changes when you agree to take your sleep seriously.

A sleep schedule in time will help tell your body when to sleep and when to wake. If you take your sleep seriously then you will be able to stick to it.

But a sleep schedule wouldn't just work right away

Because your body is already aching in joints and all, you need to relax your muscles, you need to free your body and your mind and the lack of adequate sleep has put you in a frenzy already.

So how do you get to relax (because without it, no sleep schedule will work)? Check No. 2

2. Exercise

Obvious right? How do you relax your joints, muscles and free your mind without exercising?

Exercise has so many benefits, more than just making you look good in the mirror, the six packs and hot body (which are the external benefits) it helps you become relaxed and flexible (the internal benefits).

This is important to make you sleep like a baby.

If you don't have time to exercise, just remember, that a 10 minutes exercise every morning is better than nothing at all.

Surprisingly, you just have to do simple exercises to get your body going. Jogging, push ups, jumping jacks, abductor lifts, stretching, lunges etc are all you need. All these exercises I listed here work your entire body.

You can start your day with stretching (the warm up), then jogging and then go on with any exercise you think you could love.

All the exercises I listed here can be done at home with or without equipment. You can decide to add dumbbells to your squats, lunges and jumping jacks.

Abductor lift works great for your hip while jumping jacks work great for your hands, shoulder, and back.

3. Clear the path

Okay, don't frown in confusion, this tip is actually pretty simple.

Here I am talking about those little things that make your night rest so bad. Things like stress, midnight calls and chats, alcohol (yes), excessive work (you can always do it tomorrow and twice as fast).

Stress is actually the worst of these little things because it affects how other little things like alcohol and excessive workload work.

Exercise would normally clear the path for these things, but some of them will still linger on for those who do not take their sleep seriously.

So there you have it, a sleep schedule, exercising and clearing out the little things. I can guarantee you on my personal experience that you will sleep better that is if you take your sleep seriously.
