"I Almost Lost My Son To Typhoid" Nigeria's Former Minister of Finance Reveals







Speaking at a fundraising ceremony for typhoid conjugate in Vientiane, Laos, Nigeria's Former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala revealed how she almost lost her son to the typhoid disease. 

"Typhoid fever imposes a dramatic burden on children in the poorest nations affecting countries, communities, and families, she says

This disease has long been eradicated from developed countries but is still a dangerous threat in developing countries. I lost my cousin and almost lost my son because of this disease. 

This vaccine will be a lifesaver for millions of children over the world, especially those living in developing countries without access to clean water and sanitation. 

Okonjo-Iweala currently serves as the chairman of the board of Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunisation (GAVI).
